How should I respond to a JW friend? (Australia)
by summerinvincible insorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.
she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.
but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.

before seeking the truth they have to realise they dont have it, once they realise it along comes the decadence into reality. if they think they have the truth I think your wasting your time, its tricky but doable, its hard doing this without raising a red flag, it depends how well you know the person, I know my old folks since yonks and still its very hard, now they shut up when the conversation leads to something against JW's teachings but there have been cracks.

The question of if god really existed bugged me for some time, the god the OT NT quran etc. I think the key is to study human nature, we are very shallow short sited and self destructive people but we are filled with intellegent design, I think the first human race asked these same questions and started making stories up that later turned fact, a man smarter than the average(but still very stupid) sold religion to inslave his tribe... and so did other tribes with their gods.
You read into ancient history, all the conquering, religion wars and civil wars all have this ingredient that is religion, religion is what made us become nations and nationalists but we all are alike, we all deserve the same but there is hierarchy, people die of disease and hunger will other grow fat.
The irony that I see here is we are saying exactly what other people did far far back and then created something of nothing..a concept.
If you want an answer study yourself, study human nature, study ancient history and its relation to religion like Greece Spain etc. Maybe some day everyone will put down their guns qurans and bibles and face the real issues that are plaguing us.

Sorry, I was not too sure what to make of this recent car accident, over the phone it sounded a lot worse...well the car is unrepearable but she walked away without a scratch, she is fine at the moment just had to do some x rays around her neck because of the impact and her chronic illness tendonitis, so i guess i made a big thing out of nothing but who knows what the future may hold.
She told me that consciently she much rather that I take blood and repent than die, she understands that blood is an alternative transport for oxygen but she does not have a problem in refusing blood for herself.
But talking about stuff agains the jw doctrine, its got to a point that if i mentioned something against their believe while talking they just wont talk about it. The same with family members since I oops emailed the elders manuel to other people.

I dont think this is much of a conspiracy, sounds a lot more sane then the stuff you read, the reason why the US economy is free falling is because of this war on "terror", Asia has not bought US bonds in years and this a good market indicator that US dollar will drop, the reason for this is because of international relations, what US calls war on terror other countries call it bullying, fighting countries that can not defend themselves.
Lets take one step back just after 9/11, did Bush go after Osama? No, instead he went after Sadam claiming he had weapons of mass destruction, why didnt he go after Osama? and why after 9/11?
Im not going to answers these questions and I only have theories but this should get you thinking, if you were chinese or lebanese what would you think about the USA attacking these countries? is it their legal right to do so? Even worse when they found no weapons of mass destruction how would you feel. While I disagree somewhat with Michael Moore on a lot of topics I think he makes a very strong point on America's aristocrats who are controlled by greed and the secret ingreedient is fear.
